WARRENS HILL DESTINY (1999-2008)

Destiny was a pure bred mahogany Bay Arab Stallion of 15 hands. Foaled in 1999, bred by Mrs L Dunn at Warrens Hill Arabian Stud.

He was by the European sprint champion Vert Olive, a winner of 12 races. Owned by Sheikh Hamdan al Maktoum and now standing at the French State stud.His dam Dorikos was a show quality mare who competed in both endurance and racing. By the Russian stallion Klarnet and tracing back to Polish stallion Banat on her dams side. Dorikos was bred by Mrs Ratcliff out of the major show winner Dorigen (by the AHS Premium stallion and race winner Dorian). Sadly lost to impacted colic in 2003.

He was purchased by Dorothy amd Valerie Matthews in 2006 as an unbacked 7 year old. In 2007 he was placed 3rd in hand at the North Staffordshire Arab show on only his first ever outing. Over the next seven months he was backed and qualified through the grades as an Advanced Endurance Horse competing in rides form 30 to 80km in distance.

2008 would have seen him competing in ER's up to 120kms. Unfortunately while being prepared for his first ER he was tragicaly killed when hit from behind by a 4WD in a road traffic accident only 550 meters from home on the 6th of Februay.
